A 50-year old man, Balogun Ismaila, has opened up and reportedly confessed to the police in Lagos that he does not sleep with small girls but only enjoyed putting his fingers into their private parts in order to derive sexual satisfaction.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Ismaila made the confession after he was caught inserting fingers into the private part of a 14-year old girl (name withheld) and it was alleged that he raped her.

The alleged sexual assault on the victim took place at Adedoyin Street in Bariga area of Lagos where they reside.

The suspect, Ismaila, was said to have lured the victim into his apartment and inserted his finger into her private part through her pant before the victim raised alarm. The alarm attracted their neighbours who alleged that he raped the victim and contacted the police. Ismaila was then arrested and taken to the police station.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that Ismaila put up a defence and denied raping the victim but only inserted his finger into her private part.
When he was asked why he did so since he knew that she was still a minor, he replied that he liked putting his fingers into private parts because that was how he derives sexual satisfaction without penetration.
However, the police found him culpable and charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for sexual assault on the victim.
The Court did not take his plea. The prosecutor, Mr. Christopher John, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice. Ismaila was remanded in prison custody without an option of bail pending the outcome of the DPP’s report.
The Court then asked the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice and adjourned the matter till 17th June, 2019.
It was gathered that the defendant may face trial for defilement if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial for the alleged offence. He may be sentenced to several years in prison custody if he is tried and convicted.
