HOW POLICE FOILED ATTACK BY CULT GROUP

Lagos State Police Command foiled a reprisal attack by a cult group and arrested a 60 years old woman, Shakirat Wahab alongside her son and his accomplices in order to restore sanity in the community.

The suspects who were arrested along Kano Street by Odufa, Ebute-metta, Lagos were 20-year old, Ismaila Ajadi, 20-year old Folarin Adeleke, 23-year old Idris Ololade, 24-year old Ismaila Lateef, 25-year old Akeem Amusa, 23-year old Riliwon Tanimola, 27-year old Olawale Rashidat, 30-year old Fausat Abiodun, 22-year old Omowunmi Rasaki,
28-year old Mariam Bello.

According to an eye witness who spoke to P.M.EXPRESS, in the early hours of the morning, about thirty hoodlums said to have been recruited from Fadeyi area for a reprisal attack by one Gafar, a notorious cultist and an ex convict, stormed Coastes Street by Sawmill at Ebute Metta with guns and other dangerous weapons and started shooting sporadically unleashing mayhem on residents.

The police heard about the reprisal attack and swung into action; the Divisional Police Officer, DPO Denti, SP Saidi led his men to the scene of the incident and confronted the hoodlums along Kano Street by Odufa. They arrested five of the hoodlums and 6 women accomplices including the mother of the notorious cultist Gafar while other suspects escaped through the lagoon. Police men also entered into the notorious base of the hoodlums and destroyed their shanties.

One of the suspects confessed to have been recruited from Fadeyi area for the reprisal attack. One UTC knife with dried blood stains and 3 heavy pestles used for breaking of houses were recovered from the suspects. According to information available to P.M.EXPRESS, they have been charged to court cultism and breach of public peace.
The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Imohimi Edgal has read riot act against cultism in the State and warned youths to desist and renounce membership of any cult group or face the wrath of the law.
