The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Engr. Mojeed Balogun on Friday 22 September reiterated the fact that the future is in the classrooms as he distributed free exercise books to pupils in the local government area.

At the event which attracted top dignitaries from the local government and across the state, Engr. Balogun said it was in fulfillment of his promises to give education special attention.

According to him, he kicked off the distribution of free exercise books to all the pupils in all the public schools in Ikeja local government in line with the vision of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode for pupils to enjoy qualitative education in Lagos and from the believe that whoever opens a school door, closes a prison as posited by Victor Hugo.

The Council boss also said that it will help pupils in the public school system many of whom are bright but indigent to get on with their education with ease. And he promised that it will be a continuous exercise by his administration.

Chief Funsho Ologunde, Chief Mayor Okikioposu, Comrade Dania, Prince Oluranti Olufon were among the APC chieftains who graced the event.

Some pupils who spoke to P.M.EXPRESS expressed their joy and prayed that God should bless the Council boss for reducing the burden of parents by providing the exercise books.

In a chat with P.M.EXPRESS, the Head of Administration, Mrs. Mosun Otaiku-Okoka said that any investment in education
always pays the best dividends and the management team was solidly behind the Executive Chairman in his effort to raise the quality of education in the local government.
