Ikeja LG Boss Names Health Centre After Asiwaju Tinubu
The outgoing Sole Administrator of Ikeja Local Government, Engr. Abiodun Taiwo, has described the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a living legend and gift to the Nigerian nation.
The young administrator was speaking during the commissioning of the newly built Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Primary Health Centre by Ikeja Local Government in Oritshe Street, Ikeja last Friday.
Engr. Taiwo noted that the democracy that Nigerians enjoy today is a product of sacrifices by people like Asiwaju Tinubu hence no honour done him will ever be more than enough.
The launch of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Public Health Centre was one of the various projects commissioned by the outgoing administration as part of the community intervention initiatives of the administration.
Speaking on the rationale for building the primary health centre, Engr. Abiodun Taiwo told the party leaders, party supporters and guests at the commissioning that the idea for the project was muted when he realised that there was no public health facilities in the whole Ward B of the local government.
He therefore encouraged the people to make use of the facility as well as protect it because it belongs to them.
Performing the official commissioning, Chief Funso Ologunde (State Vice Chairman,APC Lagos West) lauded the great achievements of Engr. Taiwo within the short period he was in office.
He described him as good reflection of the servant leaders the party projects.
Also commissioned that same day was the renovated Executive Chairman’s office block at the Ikeja Council Secretariat now known as ‘The Ikeja House’.
The Sole Administrator informed the party leaders, council staff and other invitees that the reason for naming the house after Ikeja was to establish the fact that Ikeja governance is for the people.
He noted that on his resumption of office, he observed that the executive building just like most of the buildings in the secretariat were dilapidated hence his resolve to give the whole facilities a face lift.
The events were followed by an award ceremony during which people who had contributed to the growth and development of Ikeja were presented with awards.
Among the recipients were the APC National Women Leader (South West) Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson, the first Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Chief Mayor Alani Okikioposu, Chief Imam of Ikeja as well as the Ikeja CDC chairman, Alhaji Osinberu Sulukaleen among many other distinguished leaders.
