A single lady has been duped and dumped in Lagos by a 60-year old man, Charles Chikwe, who promised her marriage and she reportedly gave him all her life savings.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Igando area of Lagos, where Chikwe resides and brought the lady, Ngozi Egbujo, allegedly defrauded her to the tune of over N800,000 and dumped her.

The victim was said to have become frustrated after she realised that she had been duped and dumped.
It was gathered that Mr. Chikwe went to the Eastern part of Nigeria, enticed her with a marriage proposal and invited her to Lagos in order to convince her that he meant to get married to her.
The victim, while coming, brought the said sum of the money including valuables and handed them over to Chikwe for the preparation of the marriage.
However, after Chikwe reportedly collected the money, he dumped her and she became frustrated.

He was found culpable and later charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for fraud.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Clifford Ogu, asked the Court to fix a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the offence.

He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 15th October, 2019.
