The police have moved to unravel the circumstances that led to the abduction of a victim, one Aderemi Adeoye who was rescued from the toilet in a popular hotel in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the victim was kidnapped, brutalized, robbed of about N1.6m by his captors and kept in the toilet for several days before he was rescued by the police.

The incident happened at the popular Lifestyle Hotel located at Ajiwole Street, off Governor’s Road in Ikotun Area of Lagos.

One of the suspected abductors believed to be a management staff of the hotel, Mr. Walter Ndu has been arrested for his alleged role in the abduction of the victim. The police alleged that the 45-year old Ndu and others at large had abducted, stole Ndu’s N1.6m and kept him inside the toilet.

It took the intervention of the police officers from the office of the Provost Marshal before the victim was rescued but by then he had already sustained serious injuries on his body. He was thereafter rushed to Igando General Hospital where he was still undergoing treatment.

The incident attracted various reactions from the residents and within the police circle about what really transpired and how the hotel got involved in the whole matter.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Ndu who initially resisted arrest was finally arrested and charged before Ikeja Magistrates court for the alleged abduction and robbery.

However, Ndu denied any involvement and pleaded not guilty before the court.

It was not yet certain whether Ndu has been granted bail over the incident because the police sources said they were on the trail of other suspects involved in the matter for possible prosecution and conviction.
The court adjourned the matter till 15 February, 2018, as the police was expected to arrest the other suspects to join Ndu for trial.
