A 38-year old man, Shina Kasali, has been arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command for beating his wife, Sofiat Kasali, to death.
The suspect who lives in Abosule area of Agbado in Ifo Local Government area of Ogun State was arrested on the 1st December, 2018, following a report by one of their neighbours, Tunde Babatunde, who reported at Agbado Divisional Headquarters that the suspect and the deceased had a minor disagreement when the deceased wanted to go out to fetch water but the husband asked her not to go yet.
He stated further that the argument led to a scuffle between the two, consequent upon which the suspect beat the deceased to coma. She finally gave up the ghost on the way to hospital.
Upon the report, the DPO Agbado Division, CSP Olatunji Omonijo, quickly led his detectives to the scene where the suspect was apprehended. On interrogation, the suspect claimed to be a butcher and that he has been out of job for some months  and the wife was taking advantage of that to disrespect him.
He explained further that on that fateful day, he was sitting outside when the deceased came to accuse him of looking into the private part of a prostitute who sat in the opposite direction. That was what led to the disagreement which eventually resulted to the death of the wife.
Her corpse has been deposited at the Ifo General Hospital morgue for post mortem investigation.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.
