Police Arrest Robber Operating In Army Uniform

A member of an armed robbery syndicate who specialised in operating in army uniforms around Mowe area of Ogun State has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command.
The suspect, 23-year old Adeoye Ayomide, was arrested around 8pm on Tuesday 25th September, 2018, along Ofada Road Mowe.
The gang have earlier robbed one Adeyemo Adegboyega, a retired army officer of the sum of N86,000 (eighty six thousand Naira) on13th September, 2018, with broken bottle.
The incident was reported at Mowe Divisional Headquarters consequent upon which the DPO, CSP Francis Ebuhoma, detailed his operatives to be on the trail of the hoodlums. Their efforts paid off on Tuesday when the operatives received information that the gang has been sighted around the Mowe area. Based on the information, the operatives swiftly moved into action, chased the gang and subsequently got one of them who was dressed in fake army uniform. A search warrant was duly executed in his house where more fake army uniforms were recovered.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to FSARS for discreet investigation and arrest of other members of the gang.
