Policeman Mobbed While Trying To Arrest Suspects

A Police Sergeant attached to Ejigbo Division, Edward Salami, has been hospitalzed after he received serious beating and biting from six suspects he had attempted to arrest in a joint.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Pipeline Junction where the suspects were said to be having some drinks before the victim invaded the place to performance his official duty.
It was gathered that apart from inflicting injuries on him, they also poured drinks on him to humiliate him and sent him away.
However, when he went back to the police station battered, other officers went to the place, arrested one of the suspects while others escaped and were said to be at large.
The suspect, one Abeeb Ola, was later charged before Ejigbo Magistrates Court for assault.
He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor, informed the Court that the victim who was a police Seageant was performing his lawful duty before he was attaked by the suspects.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O. Shomade, granted Ola bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition. The matter was adjourned till 9th January, 2019.
