Three Arrested For Vandalising MTN Mast

Men of the Ogun State Police Command on Saturday 18th August, 2018, arrested three men for vandalising the mast of the telecommunication giant MTN in Atan Ota area of Ado Ota Local Government area of Ogun State.

According to DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Police Command, the three suspects namely Kehinde Yahaya, 36, Akeem Adetona, 36, and Taofeek Olalere, 36, were arrested following a distress call made to the DPO Atan Ota Division, SP Abiodun Salau, at about 12 midnight by vigilante men at Onigbogbo Phase II, that a group of thieves had burgled the MTN mast and were carting away 12 solar power panels valued at about N14million. On the strength of the distress call, the DPO led his patrol men to the scene where three of the hoodlums were arrested while others escaped into the nearby bush.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that items recovered from them were 12 solar panels as well as their operational bus with registration number Lagos LND 10 XE. Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to FSARS for discreet investigation. The CP equally directed that serious manhunt should be launched for the fleeing members of the gang with the view of bringing them to justice
