Early October, 26-year-old dashing model cum mechanical engineer, Watson Uzochukwu beat 89 other contestants to emerge as the winner of the Mr. Nigeria International Top Model 2017.

At the grand finale of this year edition of the prestigious Mr and Miss Nigeria International held at the Ruby Gardens in Lekki, Lagos, Watson received astounding amount of votes to finally get crowned as Mr. Nigeria International Top Model 2017 ahead of the last 22 talented models.

The pageant, which has produced top class winners in the past six years, is the brainchild of Brendance and Crusader.

Speaking on his success, Watson said the road to the victory was really tough as it took him a lot of hardwork, focus, as well as determination to succeed.

“I had no backing and it was a last minutes decision on my part to go into it not knowing what the outcome will be. It was sheer determination alongside those who rallied around me during the latter stage and God’s grace that saw me through into the final,” said the Ikeduru-Mbaitoli local government, Imo State-born professional model cum entrepreneur.

According to him, “I was myself throughout the duration of the competition working on my style, character and aura. This is my first major competition on any platform since the beginning of my modeling career. I am happy I came out a winner.”

As part of his mandate as the new Mr. Nigeria International, Watson is already working on his pet projects that will focus on alleviating and empowering the less privileged and the youths specifically in Lagos and Imo States.

To achieve this goal, he is working so hard to get his charity foundation registered and running.

Watson appreciated God as well as Ambassador Brendan Nsikak, the C.E.O of Brendance and Crusaders for the opportunity to be crowned and by extension, give back to his society and the world at large.

“I give glory to God and as well as appreciate “Brendance and Crusader” who are the organizers of Mr and Miss Nigeria International pageant for giving me “D Voice” which is the theme for this year’s pageant and the opportunity to be able to give back to my society and the world at large. I won’t fail to appreciate my family, loved ones and acquaintances for their support in the journey so far. I can’t thank you enough, I love you all,” he added.

Watson is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).

He later proceeded to the prestigious Pan-Atlantic University EDC, where he studied Human/Customer Service Management.
