2 Men Arraigned For Using Navy Uniform To Ride Commercial Motorcycle 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects have been arrested and charged for the alleged impersonation under the Criminal Law of the State.

The suspects were apprehended by Police operatives from the Commissioner of Police Special Squad of the State Command at Oshodi while they were operating their commercial motorcycle with the uniforms.

They were detained at the Command for interrogation and while there they admitted to have done so to prevent Police harassment and intimidation on the road as to why they procured the uniforms.

However, the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charges read:

“That you, Ahmed Adedeji and Emmanuel Adebowale ‘m’ on the 11th day of December, 2025, at Oshodi Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully wear the Nigerian Navy camouflage trouser with fake Nigerian Navy identity card while riding commercial motorcycle, popularly known as Okada, knowing fully that you are not a member of the military and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 79(a)(b) of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria,2015.”

COUNT II:”That you, Ahmed Adedeji and Emmanuel Adebowale, on same date, time and place in the Lagos Magisterial District, did impersonate yourselves to be members of the Nigerian Navy by wearing camouflage face cap and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 79 (a)(b) of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

However, they pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
