2 Men Burgle Pay Points Electronics Store & Cart Away Over N10m Products

Two men, Adeshina Alimi, 64 and Adeyemi Adebayo, 50, have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly burgling Pay Points Investing Limited’s store and carting away some electronics worth over N10m.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 13th May, 2025, at about 03:00am at No. 133 Idimu Road, Off llepo Alhaji B/Stop, Idimu, Lagos, where the office is located.
According to the Police, the suspects broke into the store in the early hours of the morning and carted away the items worth the said amount and escaped.
The matter was reported to the Police at Idimu Division and the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Agatha Eze, ordered the officers to move into action and it eventually paid off. The suspects were arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the alleged theft.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, Adeshina Alimi ‘M’ and Adeyemi Adebayo, with others now at large on the 13th May, 2025, at about 03:00am at No. 133 Idimu Road, Off llepo Alhaji B/Stop, Idimu, in the Lagos magisterial district, did conspire among yourself to commit felony to wit burglary and stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Adeshina Alimi ‘M’ and Adeyemi Adebayo and others now at large, on the same date time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did break and enter into Pay Points Investing Ltd Electronics Store to commit felony in it and thereby committed an offense punishable under Section 309 (1) of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, Adeshina Alimi ‘M’ and Adeyemi Adebayo and others now at large, on the same date time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did dishonestly steal Electronic gadgets, 12 pieces of Scanforst Television sets, 8 pieces of Hisense Television sets, one piece of LG Television set and one Elepaq Generator all value the sum of (N10, 311,000) Ten Million, three Hundred and Eleven Thousand Naira, property of Pay Points Investing Ltd Electronics store and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 (1)(a) and punishable under Section 287 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.A. Popoola, granted them bail in the sum of N2m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 2nd June, 2025, for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
