2 Men Docked For Cutting Off Dead Woman’s Breasts

Two men, Adekunle Fatai, 40, and Sabitu Kolapo, 33, have been remanded at the correctional facility in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly cutting off a dead woman’s breasts while armed with a gun.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the defendants were charged before the Iyaganku Magistrate Court for conspiracy, interfering with the corpse and unlawful possession of firearms under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Tellang, told the Court that the defendants committed the offences on13th July, 2024, at about 11.35 p.m, at Gbedun village, Ibadan.
Inspector Tellang stated that the defendants conspired to exhume the body of one late Oyindamola Olosunde and cut off her left breast before they were caught act in the act and handed over to the Police for prosecution.
He also informed the Court that the defendants also possessed a gun without lawful authority while committing the alleged crime.
He said the offences contravened Sections 6 (b) and 3 of the Robbery and Firearms Laws of Nigeria, 2004, and sessions 517 and 242(1)(b) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M. Olagbenro, did not take their plea for want of jurisdiction and directed the Police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned till 29th October, 2024, for mention for the report of DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
