Two teenagers, Segun Solomon and Segun Adebiyi, have been arrested and charged for allegedly defiling their neighbour’s 10-year old daughter inside an uncompleted building in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Temidire Street, Ayobo, Lagos, where they reside.
The teenagers reportedly forcefully engaged the girl in sex one after the other and having satisfied themselves,  they allowed her to go.
When she got home, the girl reported the incident to her mother and the matter was then reported to the Police, who arrested and detained them for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which contravened Sections 137 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Court did not take their plea when they were arraigned after the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the seriousness of the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered their remand in custody pending the outcome of DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 18th July, 2024, for mention for the report of DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
