3 Ladies Docked For Stealing N30m Gold Jewelries In Magodo

Police operatives have arrested three ladies for allegedly conspiring and stealing N30m worth of gold jewelries before they escaped in the Magodo area of Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects,  Ebunoluwa Omilana, 19, Idowu Benedict, 37, Jennifer Atari, 38, were arrested after they allegedly broke into the apartment of Ngozi Temitope Animashaun at Bashiru Shittu Street, Magodo Estate, Phase 2 and stole the items.
However, they were unlucky after the owner, Animashaun, discovered the alleged theft as she reported the matter to the  Police at Isheri Division. The Police operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspects and detained them for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation,  the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for conspiracy and stealing, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However,  they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, granted them bail in the sum of N2m each with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 13th May, 2024, for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
