This was confirmed by the Gombe State Police Public Relations Officer, Supol Mahid Abubakar at the Command’s Headquarters.
Supol Abubakar stated that the three suspects were arrested for defiling three sisters following the complaint to the Police by the girls’ father Aliyu Adamu of Malam inna quarters and one Alhaji Abba who is attached to National Human Rights Commission(NHRC) Gombe State.
The spokesman, Abubakar, stated that the suspects, Adamu, Muhammed and Bakura Muhammed had confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to Court for prosecution.
He stated that the suspects will be charged before the Court for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment if they are found guilty but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
Abubakar stated that Police officers at the Command are working to ensure that young persons and children across the state are secured from criminals, hence appealed for credible information from the public to rid the state of criminality.
“The Command wishes to once again call on parents or guardians to keep closer watch over their children and monitor their activities in schools, on errand or playing with their peers at public places especially girl child” he stated.
