Three suspected kidnappers have been arrested by the Police operatives from the Lagos State Command for allegedly kidnapping a 25-year old businessman, identified as Oke Moro and collected N2m ransom in Isasi area of the State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports the suspects, Edem Chucks, 24, Oluwatobi Adeniji, 23, and Emmanuel Ebere, were busted after allegedly kidnapping the victim and were escaping before the Police at Isashi Division received a distress call and apprehended them during the operation.
According to the Police, the incident occurred at 12:00 pm when the Division received the call and a team, led by the Divisional Police Officer rushed to the scene, where the victim was rescued and the suspects arrested as well.
Police preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had abducted the victim and demanded a ransom of N2m from his mother who reportedly paid the money through two bank accounts, from where the suspects had allegedly withdrawn N1million via mobile transfer.
The victim was also robbed of three travel passports and other valuable items worth an undisclosed amount of money in the process. However, the suspects met their waterloo when the Police promptly intervened, arrested and detained at the station.
This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer,  SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed that the suspects were in Police custody undergoing interrogation over their alleged criminal conduct.
He stated that the Police were continuing their investigation into the matter, and that the arrested suspects were in their custody awaiting arraignment before the Court for their alleged conspiracy, kidnapping and armed robbery under the Criminal Laws of the State.
