The motive behind the attempt by 36-year old Alliu Abdulahi, who sells barbecued meat, popularly called Suya for abducting and attempting to slaughter a 4-year old girl at his Suya Spot with knife was not still clear to many including the police  in Lagos.

The victim was abducted at White Sand Market, Otto, Ebute Meta area of Lagos State and was billed to be slaughtered by Abdullahi where he sells Suya before help came and she was saved her.
Abdulahi was paraded among two other suspects for their alleged involvement in conspiracy, abduction and attempted murder.

The three suspects were paraded by the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni. Abdullai was alleged to have abducted the toddler from her unsuspecting mother’s shop. Thereafter, he reportedly took her to his Suya stand, where he took out his knife and attempted to slash the toddler’s throat probably for Suya meat.

However, a man reportedly accosted Abdullahi and immediately raised the alarm. During the struggle to rescue the knife from Abdulahi, police said he inflicted a cut on the good Samaritan.
CP Owoseni said the child has been reunited with her mother, while the suspects will be charged to court.

One of the suspects, Akilu Isa, who was also arrested, claimed that he (Mohammed) was insane and was not mentally stable due to shock he had when he was a child, which affected his brain.

“We all sell roasted meat (Suya) at the market. On that fateful day, the mental disorder gripped him. He immediately picked up the girl and at the same time, lifted a knife which he uses for Suya. At that point I beckoned on my other relative, Salisu, to come to the girl’s aid. We immediately gripped him and succeeded in retrieving the knife from him. Thereafter, we tied him with a rope.”

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that though, Isa denied his involvement but the police investigation found him culpable and the police said he will be charged to court with Mohammed.
