Fuji music legend, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere, has set a new standard in the Nigerian music industry by fulfilling his two-year-old promise of gifting plots of land, now valued at over N5 million each to all his band members.

The groundbreaking announcement was made during his 60th birthday celebration held at the Anchor Event Center, Agidingbi, Lagos.

In an unprecedented act of generosity, Obesere also gifted a house to his loyal band member, Sharafa Salawudeen, recognizing his years of dedication and unwavering support.

This historic gesture has been described as a first in the Nigerian music industry, earning Obesere praise as a leader who truly values his team.

While addressing the audience, Obesere reflected on the significance of the moment and expressed his gratitude:

“This is a promise I made two years ago, and I am overjoyed to fulfill it today. The land was worth N1 million then, but now it’s valued at over N5 million. My band members are more than a team—they are my family. Sharafa Salawudeen, in particular, has been with me through thick and thin, and this house is my way of appreciating his loyalty.”

The audience erupted in applause as the announcement was made, with fans and industry colleagues praising Obesere for his unparalleled generosity and commitment to uplifting those who have supported his career.

This milestone birthday celebration was a mix of emotional tributes, thrilling performances, and a showcase of Obesere’s legacy as not only a Fuji icon but also a trailblazer in showing appreciation to his team.

Obesere’s remarkable gesture has set a new benchmark in the music industry, serving as an inspiration to other artists on the importance of valuing and rewarding the people who contribute to their success.
