7 Men Gang Rape Lady, 21

A 21-year old lady has allegedly been gang raped in Lagos by seven men who engaged her in sex romp one after the other.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Oshodi area where the victim and the suspects reside.

The dastardly act was reported to the police in the area who promptly moved in and arrested two of the suspects while five others escaped and were still on the run.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the men reportedly ambushed the lady, pushed her to a corner, pulled her pant and took turns to rape her.
Two of the suspects, Samson Shittu, 25 and Ramoni Animashaun were arrested over the incident. They were later transferred to the Gender Section of Police Command for investigation.

During interrogation, the suspects were said to have admitted committing the offence and mentioned other suspects now at large.
They were subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and rape which attracts several years of imprisonment if they are tried and get convicted for the alleged offence.
The prosecutor, Inspector Christopher John, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice because of the seriousness of the offence in order to determine whether the case will be transferred to the High Court.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, ordered the defendants to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The Court directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice while the suspects will be remanded in prison custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s report. The matter was adjourned till 3rd June, 2019.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the men may be sentenced to life imprisonment for the alleged offence if they are tried and convicted for the alleged offence by the Court.
