As the preparations for the release of his eighth album hots up, Afro-pop music star Akande ‘9ice’ Abolore has dropped a new single titled ‘Economy’.
This 9ice latest effort is produced by DJ Coublon, the young beatmaker who produced Tekno’s Wash and Good Times for Kiss Daniel respectively.
Speaking on the new song, 9ice said he finds it expedient to write a song that talk about the Nigerian economy given its ups and downs.
“Economy as a topic is rare in today’s entertainment world but crucial, necessary and needed for us as Nigerians to grow. We know what we want, but we want to know where we went wrong and how to profer solutions to our problems,” 9ice said.
DJ Coublon adds his creativity to the song which 9ice said he is dedicating to his brother, producer and mentor, Olumide Ogunade, popularly known as ID Cabasa.
“My next album is for ID Cabasa. All profits and sales go to him, the most prolific music producer of our time, Id Cabasa,” said Alapo Meji crooner.
He noted that his intention concerning the album project is to celebrate his mentor and long time associate while he’s still alive.
ID Cabassa was instrumental to many of the successes 9ice recorded as a singer.
9ice released his debut album, Certificate in 2007.
His sophomore, Gongo Aso was dropped in 2008; followed with Tradition in 2009; Bashorun in 2011 and Versus also in 2011.
