Veteran Journalist, Igbinoba, 10 Others Make The List, As Nigerian Judo Boss, Oshodi Appoints Personal Aides
In what appears to be a new dimension in the administration of sports at the federation level in Nigeria, and more importantly, to enhance quick service delivery, newly elected President of Nigeria Judo Federation (NJF), Dr. Musa Oshodi has once again scored a big point in taking the sport to the next level.
Dr. Oshodi has assembled some technocrats in the game to join hands with him in pushing forward and bringing to reality his electoral manifestoes as promised while campaigning for the position of president of the NJF at the last federation election.
He ensured that those he picked to work with him as personal aides are like round pegs in the round holes.
A veteran journalist of many years in the trade of sports journalism, Mr Ikpo Igbinoba has been appointed as the Special Assistant on Media.
Igbinoba, who hails from Edo State, south-south Nigeria, is a former Sports Editor in Daily Times Group. He is also a former board member of the Nigeria Judo Federation, and a former consultant to the Supreme Council for Sports in Africa, SCSA (zone 3). He is the publisher of online Judo publication, judoblitzng.com and a contributor to P.M. EXPRESS digital newspaper
Mr Kolawole Adaniyan is the Chief of Staff to the federation’s president, while the Deputy Chief of Staff is Reza King.
Other appointees are Sheriff Hammed, who is the Senior Special Assistant on Marketing, Bala Ika Bassey was appointed as Personal Assistant on Special Duties, Toyin Ojo is the Special Assistant on Youth Affairs. Esther Augustine is the Personal Assistant in Female Department, while Ogidan Olatunji was appointed Personal Assistant on Inter-Federation Affairs.
Segun Gbayi is the Special Adviser on Diaspora Affairs, while Usman Yahaya is the Special Assistant on Associations’ Affairs.
The president, Dr. Oshodi congratulated the newly appointed aides, even as he urged them to see the appointment as a call to serve their fatherland by joining hands with him to reposition the game of judo in Nigeria and bring the game back to a force to be reckoned with in the comity of judo nations in the world.
“For the smooth running of Nigeria Judo Federation pending the constitution of various committees, the president has deemed it necessary to appoint assistants and advisers to take charge of various assignments meant to ensure that judo is taken to the next level in the country,” a statement from the Office of the President said Tuesday evening.
Accordingly, all the appointments are with immediate effect.
