Comrade Ibe Warns Against Defamatory Post On Eze Upata

Posted on November 10, 2021

The President General of Orashi National Congress, Comrade Emeni Ibe, has said that young people must not hide behind the veil of the social media to cast aspersions on respected monarchs like Eze Upata otherwise legal actions will be taken against them.

Reacting to a publication on Facebook, Comrade Ibe said, “My attention has been drawn to attracted to a post on Facebook by a user with the name DE SAN, with the title ‘Eze Upata Is A Failure’.

“I wish to remind the young man, who made the post, of the fact that he is moving around freely and sleeping comfortably in his house because of the traditional amnesty programme, which HRM Felix Otuwarikpo initiated in 2019 and still midwifing till date.”

“He may also be reminded that Eze Upata is sponsoring 69 Upata students on full scholarship and paid bursary to 963 students in 2019. Just as the 2021 bursary list is being compiled for implementation, Upata is the first Kingdom to build a central Palace in Rivers State. Upata Police Division is nearing completion and the Police Regional Clinic is functioning at Edeoha.”

“Ula Ikata people are back to their community. Upata is peaceful. OSPAC shooting is an isolated case that has more to do with the Local Government than the traditional institution. King Felix Otuwarikpo’s achievements are visible for all to see.”

“Let me, on behalf of the good people of Upata, sound a note of warning to characters like this to desist from further attack on the King of Upata and the regent of Eze Ekpeye Logbo, otherwise a legal action will be taken against any further defamation on our king, who is a blessing to our generation and generation yet unborn” Comrade Ibe concluded.
