We Must Get Our Children Engaged In Order To Curb Rate Of Crime – Dr Buruj

Posted on December 2, 2021

The CEO of Buruj Sports Academy, Dr Salaudeen Waheed Buruj, has advised parents, relatives and guardians to constructively engage their children in order to help curb the rate of crimes and criminality in our society.

Speaking on Wednesday 1st December, 2021, the sports talent discovery and building expert, Dr Buruj said,”When parents, guardians, or other relatives are unable or unwilling to discharge normal parental duties, it results in unprecedented occurrences. An idle hand is the devil’s workshop, as the old adage says. It is therefore, not surprising that there is an upsurge of violent crimes in the country. The youth find themselves trapped in poverty and even destitution, and can no longer do what people in their prime are supposed to do because of lack of opportunity to even start”.

“That is the reason some of them have taken their destinies in their hands, and lent their enormous energies to crimes and violent enterprises such as robberies, kidnapping, cultism, pimping, prostitution, advanced fee fraud, terrorism, militancy and separatist agitations. All these begin from inability of the parents to cater for the needs of their children or mostly when they are not being properly brought up thereby getting comfort and pleasure from the society.”

“As parents, it is a form of unhealthy thinking to leave the survival of your children to the hands of government. Charity they say begins at home. You have failed as a parent when you don’t communicate with your child often or mostly when you cannot identify the future pursuit of your child from a tender age. A good parent would identify and watch closely the things his/her child does to understand what area he has passion for and help him develop and achieve success in it.”

“Peer Pressure often leads the way to destruction for most youth, most teenagers are being brain washed with what is known as street orientation, clamouring quotes like “Get rich or die trying” “Now is the time to make it” “Ji masun” amongst others with makes them lieur into illegal means of survival all to get off the shackles of poverty and embrace luxury forgetting all that glitters is not gold.”

“Sports generally and most pertinently football, is a vital tool that has captured the minds of many youths who have genuine passion for it, keeping them busy and engaged doing what they love and strengthens their zeal for accomplishing their goals of greatness.”
“Buruj Sports Academy, as a veritable platform, has taken a lot of youths off the streets getting them a desired platform to develop and excel in the ever evolving world of football, exposing them to various opportunities home and abroad.”

Speaking on the plans ahead, the academy CEO, Dr. Salaudeen Waheed Buruj said, “Enrollment of new entrants is presently in progress into the academy’s round year programme. For this festive season, our office is open to new players who wants to register. Also our players will be very busy preparing for our next international outing in the Queens land, where they will get to explore great folds in the world of football. Most outstanding players get scholarship opportunities and get scouted by EPL Scouts, who will be present. We are also preparing to play Nigeria Third Tier League System – Nationwide League One (NLO 1). Now is the time to register your ward(s) to keep them busy doing what they love, which in turn gives them happiness.” Dr Buruj posited.
