The Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, has charged his constituents on the need for unity and cohesion during and after the Christmas celebrations.

In his message to constituents, Mr. Ayinde said, “On this auspicious occasion, I extend my greetings to all the good people of Ikeja Federal Constituency, particularly the Christians as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ”.

“As we celebrate the birth of our saviour Jesus Christ, I want us to remember that it is a time to spread the love of Christ with the family, friends, neighbours and the less privileged in the society, because the life of Jesus Christ is a source of inspiration to all of us to lead our lives with virtue and faith.”

“I call on politicians, especially the public office holders, to rededicate themselves to the service of humanity in line with  the true teaching of Jesus Christ which emphasizes tolerance, patience, brotherly kindness, care for the needy and love for one another among other virtues.”

“I would also urge us that while observing the Christmas celebrations, we should reaffirm our commitment to maintaining ’UNITY and COHESION’ at every level and work for overall betterment of our dear country, Nigeria.”

“Although this year’s Christmas celebrations are still being held in the midst of a pandemic, I appeal to all people to continue to strictly implement health protocols to break the chain of transmission of Covid-19.”

“Once more, I join my Christian brothers and sisters to pray for peace and harmony, while I wish you all Happy And Merry Christmas!”
