Posted on February 9, 2022

To mark the launch of the new Amaizing Day breakfast cereal for children, Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc (“FMN”), owners of the iconic ‘Golden Penny’ brand launched “The Power of 4” campaign to show that every child is amazing at something.

Oluwatooni Odewole, Category Manager, Breakfast Cereals at FMN, says, “Amazing Day recognises the fact that what a child eats at the early stages of their development builds a foundation for healthy eating habits and nutritional knowledge that can last them a lifetime. It also helps them to grow and live up to their potential. Through this campaign, we strive to drive home this message for all parents, partnering with them to nurture the future of our great nation.”

According to nutritionists, protein, calcium, carbohydrates, fibre, and vitamins are essential contributors to healthy development.

Golden Penny Amaizing Day provides just that. It is made from natural ingredients like whole maize, pure soya bean flour, and cassava flour. It is also fortified with four major nutrients — Calcium, Protein, Dietary Fibre, Vitamin A — which ensure that children grow and develop a healthy body, strong bones, and sharp eyes.

Calcium helps children and adolescents to maintain strong bones and teeth. Protein aids the recovery and repair of muscular tissues, skin, hair and nails.

The body can only produce eleven out of the twenty amino acids that make up protein. The other nine must be present in the food we consume.

Fibre aids digestion and reduces the risk of heart disease. Vitamin A aids eyesight development, helps children develop great skin, boosts their immune system, and protects them from infections.

UNICEF advises that “Poor diets in early childhood can lead to deficiencies in essential vitamins and nutrients”.

Therefore, parents must feed their children with the right foods containing the proper nutrients for their development.

Golden Penny Amaizing Day product with “The Power of 4” focused on child nutrition in Nigerian homes.

“The Power of 4” of the Amaizing Day cereal hinges on providing the four essential nutrients which are Calcium, Protein, Vitamin A and Vitamin E for children.
