Onyeagucha Calls On Imo Assembly To Recall Hon. Okey Onyekamma

Posted on October 21, 2022

The PDP Candidate for Imo East Senatorial District, Hon. Barr. Uche Onyeagucha, has called on the current leadership of Imo State House of Assembly to immediately recall Rt. Hon. Barr Okey Onyekamma, member representating Mbaitoli State Constituency, who was suspended since November last year.
Hon. Onyeagucha noted that the suspension of Hon. Okey Onyekamma by the State House of Assembly was the height of legislative rascality and brazen display of illegality, which must be vehemently condemned at all times.
In a statement signed by Prince MacDonald Enwere, (Special Assistant on Media to Hon. Barr. Uche Onyeagucha), he said, “It is indeed, ludicrous and unacceptable for the State Assembly to continue to deny the people of Mbaitoli State Constituency representation”.
“Although, we are not ignorant of the fact that the illegal suspension of Hon. Okey Onyekamma by the State House of Assembly is akin to the proverbial saying that “when a masquerade dances on the roof top of a building without missing its steps, the man behind the mask cannot but be a Carpenter” he said.
To this effect, Hon Onyeagucha therefore, condemned in the strongest terms the draconian, strong-arm and headmasterist influence of Governor Uzodimma over the leadership of the House. He opined that Members of the present House should be ashamed of themselves for allowing Governor Uzodimma to continue to use them as  ‘rubber stamp’.
“We cannot continue to massage such act of illegality, lawlessness and gangsterism which the State Assembly has been known for since the inception of Senator Uzodimma’s regime.”
“We call on the good people of Mbaitoli State Constituency to rise and demand for the recall of their Representative, Hon. Barr. Okey Onyekamma.”
