Success Stories – What About The Failures?

Posted on October 8, 2023

DON EBUBEOGU

In every entrepreneur’s life, success has never been a straightforward line but rather a squiggly, dark tunnel and uncertain route that sometimes leads to a positive result.

Why then are we fixated on sharing only our success stories and ignoring that path where we made mistakes or suffered misadventures in the course of our business?

Business stories should be a way for us to demonstrate our own humanity and to show that even though challenges happen, there are always ways to navigate through them successfully.

They can be used as an intentional tool to encourage the readers to turn our hindsight into their foresight.

Our business stories can inspire others and show that obstacles may be overcome. The low periods are temporary, and we can achieve success through perseverance, focus, hard work, and enlisting the help of friends and colleagues.

Last year, when we started marketing The Nines, we made a terrible error of judgment and wasted 9 months doing practically nothing.

A few weeks ago, after swallowing our pride, we went back to the drawing board and started a campaign that placed The Nines in most of the markets across the country. And the off-takes have been overwhelming.

Don’t worry about your mistakes. Worry about your failure to correct them.

Be the gods you see in others.
