Igbo Community Honours AIG Ali, Prince Idowu At Eze Nwokedi’s Palace

Igbo speaking community on Sunday converged at the palace of the Chairman of Council of Ndieze in Lagos State, Eze Chika Nwokedi, to honour the Assistant Inspector of Police, AIG Mohammed Ali, by giving him one of the highest titles in Igboland. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that AIG Ali was given the chieftaincy title as “Agu-Na Eche-Mba” and the award of the best security Police officer in 2023 in Lagos and Ogun States, for what he had done to secure those States.
Also honoured at the epoch event was Prince Olusunkami Ismail Idowu as Nwanne-Di-Na-Mba of Ndigbo as a demonstration of peace and unity that exists between the Igbo and Yoruba in Ijegun /Ijedodo communities.
The honour was bestowed by Eze Nwokedi while the presentation of awards and certificate was done by the President of Igbo Speaking community, Lagos State, Chief Sunday Udeh.
Speaking at the event, Eze Nwokedi explained that AIG Ali was given the awards because of his outstanding quality as a detribalized Nigerian and performance as an astute Police officer.
He explained that AIG Ali loves every tribe and does not discriminate in his performance as a senior Police officer  and that was why Ndieze, who he is their Chairman, gave him the Chieftaincy title in recognition of his outstanding quality, in order to encourage him to continue his good works to humanity and for others to emulate him. He recalled that he knew Ali some years ago when he was DPO Apapa Division and they have maintained the relationship because he is a good man.
On Prince Idowu, Eze Nwokedi explained that he was honoured to demonstrate the peace and unity that exists between the Igbo and Yoruba in Ijegun and Ijedodo kingdoms.
He urged the Igbo to recognize the host community and respect their culture and tradition so that they will get blessings from the land. He explained that he has a good relationship with the Oba of Ijegun because he recognized that he is the father of all.
The President of Igbo speaking community, Chief Udeh, also spoke in similar manner and explained that AIG Ali deserved the honours given to him because he has demonstrated capacity over the years and loves Ndigbo.
Eze Nwokedi reiterated his passion and commitment to continue to touch lives in the society and to continue to recognize people for their good works, which he described as his core calling by God and was confirmed by his lovely wife,  Ugoeze Tessy Nwokedi.
He expressed satisfaction as people came to honour him on this year’s New Yam festival and stated that he will  continue to celebrate it every other year.
Chief Udeh also commended Eze Nwokedi for what he has been doing and noted he has shown that he actually knows his onion as Ezendigbo to protect Ndigbo by building bridges across the ethnic groups in Nigeria.
He recalled what Eze Nwokedi did at the Ejigbo Magistrate Court, where he went for another matter and met some women who were remanded in the correctional centre because of N210,000.
Chie Udeh stated that Eze Nwokedi  asked the Magistrate that he wanted to pay the money so that the defendants will be released and that he made transfer of the money to the complainant and the matter was resolved without knowing which tribes those women came from.
“That was a demonstration of capacity and leadership as traditional ruler of Ndigbo” he stated.
AIG Ali, who was represented because of serious engagement, thanked the Igbo community for honouring him and promised that he will not take the award for granted.
The event witnessed the presence of dignataries, men and women women from different ethnic groups, friends and wellwishers of the awardees, members of the press and the cabinet chiefs of Eze Chika Nwokedi.
