Two daughters of late Archbishop Benson Idahosa, the founder of Church of God Mission, Daisy and Ruth, were said to have allegedly conspired, framed up a single mother, Faith Omoruyi and her boyfriend, Samuel Adams, to rot in jail in order to adopt her 7-year old daughter, Svetta Omoruyi, in Abuja.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Daisy, who was married before and had three children, allegedly framed up Faith and her boyfriend, simply known as Sam and handed them over to the Police, alleging that the lady allowed her boyfriend, Sam, to rape her child and that was why the child had infection from the toilet.
Mr. Sam has been languishing in Police custody at FCID, Area 10,under SIU department, Abuja for the past two months while Faith was said to be on administrative bail over what never happened as doctors were said to have confirmed that the victim was not abused as Daisy had claimed.
It is said that the purpose for humanitarian service is to give succour to the helpless and to the hopeless. But it does not appear so in the case of Faith Omoruyi and her daughter, Svetta Omoruyi, as both the mother and her daughter are now victims of the supposed NGO, known as Pathfinder Foundation, which is run by Ruth Idahosa and being exploited through her sister, Daisy Idahosa as founded by their late father.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the bitter experience for Faith began when she returned back to Nigeria years ago after she was trafficked to Russia and got pregnant in the process.
She was later delivered of a beautiful mixed-race baby girl and named her Svetta Omoruyi. She has been taking care of the daughter alone till she met the supposed NGO run by Ruth, who promised her rehabilitation and integration back into the society. It was never mentioned to her that her child will be taken away from her during the process of the supposed reintegration.
Faith’s woes started when Ruth Idahosa, instead of the promised rehabilitation, handed Faith and her daughter to her sister, Daisy Idahosa, to keep them in her custody in Abuja, where she runs a school.
Upon receiving them, Daisy Idahosa liked the little girl and since she had no child, she took her under the guise that they were rehabilitating Faith. She was said to have collected Svetta Omoruyi from Faith and then employed Faith as a bus assistant in their school, Word of Faith Group of Schools, Area 1, Abuja.
Unknown to Faith Omoruyi, who thought that they were being nice to her, Daisy in collaboration with her sister, Ruth, who runs Pathfinder Foundation, changed the baby’s name from Svetta Omoruyi to Sophia Idahosa without the consent or knowledge of the mother. It is worrisome that the action was without a due legal process that required the biological mother’s consent.
Concerned Church members are demanding for Sam’s release because he was the caretaker of the church arm of Bishop Idahosa’s establishments.
One of the church members explained that Daisy handles the school while Ruth is in charge of the Foundation and the senior son is the Presiding Bishop of the church founded by late Bishop Benson.
“The church moved from a hotel in Abuja to the school hall, where Daisy controls. Mr. Sam was the caretaker in the school but resigned due to Daisy’s maltreatment. But when the church moved from the hotel to the school hall, there was no caretaker which led to loss of equipments and other damages, and the church executives decided to contact Sam.”
“During his time with the church, Sam was fearless in reporting every wrong moves by Daisy, who cared less about her father’s church and this triggered the calculated attempt made by Daisy to frame up Sam so as to get both parties off her track for the full possession of the baby.” the church member stated.
According to Faith Omoruyi, Daisy has oppressed and intimidated her with the Police and explained that even at the Police station Daisy changed her own name from Faith Omoruyi to Faith Idahosa and she came with a full squad of aggressive Police detectives, who arrested both Faith and Sam on unfounded allegations.
Another female members of the church revealed:
“When Faith Omoruyi realized that it was all a game to take advantage of her situation, she demanded for her daughter, who was grudgingly released to her with a threat that they would no longer be responsible for the child’s school fees since she was enrolled at the school. This burden the mother willingly accepted and continued to work as a staff in the said school so as to be able to meet her motherly responsibilities to her child”.
Faith also narrated how Daisy Idahosa used her influence to petition the Police against her and her now ex-boyfriend, Sam. They alleged that he was a member of a pedophile gang and he was molesting Svetta, which Faith said was unfounded and false.
“We were arested on the 13th September, 2023. Four (4) days later, i was released on the claim that Svetta retracted her initial statement that her mom was aware of the molestation. The question is how come Svetta retracted her statement concerning the fact that her mother was aware about Sam molesting her? Was she being tutored on what to say per time? How was this allegation arrived at, and to what end?”
“Sam has been left to rot in Police custody with the matter grudgingly charged to Court but no date has been fixed for hearing and Police has refused to grant him bail. How could you send another person’s child, a young promising, multi-talented and hard working young man to the Police, all because his ex-girlfriend had told Daisy in an argument that his boyfriend will take care of her and Svetta (since they were dating at that time).”
When our correspondent tried to contact Daisy and Ruth on their phone numbers, their lines were switched off while the IPO in charge of the case declined to speak on the matter.
