NNPLC Announces Date For Exportation Of Nigeria’s Petroleum Products Abroad

The NNPLC has announced the date for the exportation of Nigeria’s petroleum products abroad during a leadership visit on Thursday to the Senate in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that it was disclosed by the Group Managing Director of NNPLC, Alhaji Mele Kyari, who announced that the corporation will forgo the importation of petroleum and will be producing enough for exportation in 2024.
Kyari confirmed that the NNPLC would start production of Petroleum products at Port Harcourt refinery in December followed by the Warri refinery in the first quarter of 2024 including Kaduna refinery and other small-scale refineries.
He further said that the corporation had recorded 274 ( two hundred and seventy-four) million profit in 2021 and posted a profit of 2 (two) trillion in 2023. Thus, in 2024, he guaranteed that Nigeria would be a net exporter of petroleum products.
Kyari promised the Senate that Nigeria would not experience fuel queues in 2023 or any form of fuel shortages in the country again.
In response, the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, promised the director of NNPLC that they would support the corporation if there would be renovation and establishment of modular refineries that would serve as the creation of job opportunities for youths in the country and also form a partnership with the corporation to bid legislation in the oil and gas sector.
Akpabio complimented the corporation for ensuring an end to fuel subsidies and scarcity in the country.
