The Lagos State Court Consent Judgment Ohanaeze President, Chief Solomon Aguene, may have started moving out his belongings from the secretariat over unpaid rent and the scheduled visit of the Ohanaeze President General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, targeted to end the leadership crisis in the State Chapter.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Chief Aguene has secretly removed virtually all his personal belongings in the secretariat located at 19A James Robinson Street, Surulere area of Lagos.
Some of the items reportedly removed included his assorted artworks, his photographs and that of top Nigerians, safe boxes including files, documents among others items which he used to decorate his office.
It was however, not confirmed why he chose to remove those items at night to his personal office domiciled in the Ikoyi area of Lagos. His fate as Ohanaeze Ndigbo President in Lagos State is hanging in the balance after Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu summoned him to Owerri in Imo State and made it clear to him that he is coming to Lagos to end the leadership crisis in the Lagos State Chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
The visit was said to have been scheduled for Saturday, 16th March, 2024. Part of the invitation letters sent to the stakeholders read:
“Dear Sir, I find it very compelling at this time to call a meeting of stakeholders and leaders of Igbo Nation. This meeting is very important; it will address the challenges of Igbos in politics, business, in education etc. In view of your past contributions towards the development of Igbo Nation and Nigeria, you are hereby invited as one of the few delegates for this meeting.
This meeting will be hosted by Chief Chika Okafor (Chicason) at his Lagos Residence …. Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi Lagos. Date: Saturday 16th March, 2024. Time is 6pm. I look forward to welcoming you personally at this meeting.
Signed: Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu CFR (Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo)
President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide.”
Chief Iwuanyanwu’s visit has thrown the camp of Chief Aguene into disarray, as his tenure was said to have elapsed and he obtained a Consent Judgment for another tenure, which threw Ohanaeze into crisis and factions.
Aguene’s followers were also said to be angry with him for not consulting them before he allegedly accepted to step down and was planning it secretly before it was exposed in the media.
P.M.EXPRESS exclusively gathered that Chief Iwuanyanwu was frank to Aguene and told him that he cannot be Ohanaeze President through the back door after his tenure had elapsed by going to Court to obtain judgment whereas he was instrumental to the election by appointing the electoral committee and made Chief Oliver Akubueze as the chairman, who conducted the election and Chief Sunday Ossai emerged as president.
During the meeting, Chief Aguene reportedly told Iwuanyanwu that he was ready for peace but he should not be disgraced out of office and therefore, sought for a meeting of the stakeholders, where he will be given soft landing and he will hand over to Chief Ossai.
It was gathered that Chief Iwuanyanwu accepted and has now fixed the meeting and invited some stakeholders including chairman Council of Ndieze, Lagos State,  Eze Chris Offia, Eze Uche Dimgba, Chief Oliver Akubueze, Chief John Uche and many others, who are expected to nail Chief Aguene for bringing crises into Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State chapter.
But there was a twist in the matter as Chief Aguene was said to have suggested that Chief Iwuanyanwu should allow him to exist with the elected President, Chief Sunday Ossai and probably create the room for Coordinator as he claimed that he has the contact of Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, which may not be true because none from the Igbo stock was nominated into any position by the Lagos State Government.
