Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, organized a vibrant Children’s Day celebration at Estate Primary School, Ogba.

The event, which held today, brought together hundreds of children, educators and community leaders to honour and celebrate the potential and achievements of our younger generation.

The Chairperson of Ojodu LCDA, Mrs. Abimbola Odunmbaku, represented by Supervisor For WAPA, Hon Folake Adams, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the Council’s commitment to the welfare and development of children in the community.

“Today’s celebration is a testament to our dedication to creating a conducive environment for our children to thrive. We are committed to providing quality education, healthcare, and recreational facilities to support their growth,” she stated.

The event featured a variety of activities designed to engage and entertain the children. There were performances by students, including cultural dances, presentations and musical renditions that showcased the diverse talents within our primary schools. Additionally, schools with impressive displays were awarded with educational materials and gifts while refreshments were provided, ensuring that everyone enjoyed a fun and fulfilling day.

Parents and guardians expressed their appreciation for the well-organized event. Mrs. Adeola Ogunbiyi, a parent, remarked, “This is a wonderful initiative by the Ojodu LCDA. It’s heartening to see the children so happy and engaged. Events like these are crucial for their development and self-esteem”.

One of the highlights of the event was the unique and colourful performance by Estate Primary School’s Inclusive Unit. The pupils with special needs had their maiden participation, as they were crowned the winners of the Match Past competition. This also corroborates the administration’s leave-no-one-behind orientation.

The Children’s Day programme at Estate Primary School, Ogba, stands as a significant reminder of the collective responsibility to support and invest in the future leaders of the community. The Ojodu LCDA’s efforts in organizing such an event highlight the importance of communal support in the holistic development of children.
