Senator Enang Charges Mechanical Engineers To Stir Up Inventions In Oil Sector

Former Presidential Adviser on National Assembly and Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita Enang, has charged the Nigerian Institute of Mechanical Engineers to stir up inventions in the oil sector by developing modern system in refining petroleum products.
The former Presidential aide made the call during the weekend at the annual conference of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers Fellowship Conference in Abuja, where he was invited as distinguished guest speaker.
The Senator used the opportunity to draw the attention of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and particularly the Nigerian Institute of Mechanical Engineers to what Engineering has done or could have done on domestic refining capacity building, the failure of which has led to the collapse of Nigeria Economy today, starting from fuel importation upon the collapse of Warri, Port Harcourt and Kaduna Refineries.
He also urged them to rise up to the occasion, support and promote the good inventions being put forward by the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun, Delta State and the mini refinery already in place at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria under the guidance of Prof Dabo among others to immediately ensure the local refining of petroleum products in the country which would, greatly promote the practice of engineering in the Nation as well help the National economy out of the present quagmire.
The institution through her leadership, conferred an excellence award on the distinguished Senator for his contributions and selfless services toward national economy and nation building.
The Senator appreciated the institute for the conferment of excellence award on him and charged them to keep the spirit and continue to develope measures to solve our current economic challenges.
