In the Bible book of Mathew 24:45-51, we are told the parable of the faithful and unfaithful servant. The faithful servant gets to work doing the bidding of their master, whether he watches or not, while the unfaithful servant seizes the time to beat up other servants, party and get drunk. The Bible tells us that upon the arrival of the Master, the unfaithful servant was rewarded with a punishment befitting of his disloyalty while the faithful servant was rewarded.

A servant in Bible terms is comparable to an appointee or an aide of the governor, in the circumstance, and like this parable shared by our Lord Jesus Christ, the best way to demonstrate your loyalty to the governor is by taking actions to project his image in good light. You cannot be a loyal aide of the governor by going about harassing innocent commercial motorists and other Imolites, extorting their hard-earned money for your personal use, and unleashing thugs on the citizenry.

His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, GSSRS, is a very compassionate leader who is a stickler to the rule of law and he will not condone actions and utterances that contradict his cherished principles of decency and decorum. The governor instructs that all his aides uphold the highest standards of service, especially, in their interaction with ordinary citizens. Therefore, any appointee of the governor who deviates from the path of orderliness, dignity and honesty in carrying out their functions, is a disloyal aide and cannot enjoy the governor’s endorsement.

The governor had, through his Chief of Staff, directed that a thorough investigation be carried out on the activities of some officials who were accused of high-handedness, extortion, physical abuse of motorists, and alleged acts of corruption, and that remains the official position until the investigation is concluded and its outcome duly communicated to the public.

Any individual who goes about embarrassing the government in the media by insinuating that the administration condones reckless behaviour, thuggery, harbours a cabal or insinuates favouritism by the governor, does not represent His Excellency and the administration accurately. While it is possible that such officials are being overzealous, we cannot make excuses for any act that tends to embarrass the administration.

Imolites are assured that His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma shall continue to have their best interests at heart and would stop at nothing in ensuring that their rights and dignity are protected and respected, and anyone, no matter how highly placed who intimidates any innocent citizen of the State will not escape appropriate disciplinary actions. We are further encouraged to continue to support the people-oriented visions of the Shared Prosperity administration by being orderly, following traffic rules and following the appropriate channels in reporting acts of lawlessness by any official of government.

IMO IS LAWFUL!
