Lady, 26, Docked For Biting Policeman While Attempting To Effect Arrest On Highway

A 26-year old lady, Favour Unachukwu, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly inflicting injury with human bites on a Police Inspector,  Ogunbodede Taiwo, attached to Isolo Division while performing his lawful on the highway. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Cele Link Bridge, Isolo area of Lagos, where Inspector Taiwo went to perform his lawful duty and accosted the lady over an offence.

 

According to the Police, the suspect, Favour Unachukwu, was accosted by the victim over an undisclosed offence on the road. They had an exchange of words during which the lady allegedly attacked, held his hand and inflicted injury on him with human bites.

 

It took the intervention of other Police officers on duty, who reinforced, arrested and detained her at the Police station for interrogation over the alleged assault on their colleague.

 

After interrogation, the Police found her culpable and consequently charged her before the Isolo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

 

She pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Inspector Solomon, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. I. O. Williams, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
