ONC Inducts His Eminence, Barr. Nwachukwu Obuohna Obi III, Oba Eze Ogba As Grand Patron

Respected Niger Delta socio-cultural group, Orashi National Congress, ONC, has inducted His Eminence, Barr. Nwachukwu Obuohnna Obi III, Oba Eze Ogba of Ogba land, as the Grand Patron of the group.

The event took place at the Oba’s Palace in Omoku, Rivers State, on Monday 9th September, 2024, during a familiarization visit.

Speaking during the visit, Snr. Comrade Amb Emeni Ibe, the President General of the Orashi National Congress said, “On behalf of the good people of Orashi Region in Rivers State, which comprises Abua/Odual, Ahoada East, Ahoada West and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas of Rivers State, we extend our best wishes to your Eminence on this historic occasion of our visit to your palace”.

“On behalf of the executive council and the entire membership of the congress the delegation has come to thank you and register our deepest appreciation for the success recorded in the area of promotion of peace, tradition and culture in Ogba land by your leadership.”

“We appreciate you and the Oba Eze Ogba in council of traditional rulers for remaining resolute in the dedication to the success of your traditional leadership in Ogba land, Orashi region, Rivers State, Niger Delta and Nigeria in general. We extend our appreciation to his Excellency the Executive Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara for the state sponsorship of our recent visit to Abuja on the 29th to 30th August, 2024 which your Eminence was part of the delegation from Orashi Region and we are proud of your exemplary disposition which is worthy of emulation, therefore we crave your indulgence to present this award of grand patron of the congress as one of the most outstanding traditional ruler from Orashi region, congratulations we bestow on your eminence as all the rights and privilege of grand patron and we look forward to tap from your wealth of experience as a father and digital king, your Eminence is a gift and blessing to our generation.”

4. Promotion of peace summit, just like the one we recently held tagged Orashi Peace, Unity and Security Summit on the 30th of July 2024 in Ahoada Town, of which your Eminence representation was the chairman of the occasion even though you were outside the country during our event.

5. Operation work with traditional rulers and security agencies just to mention but a few. “

During the visit, the ONC presented an award to the monarch as one of the most outstanding traditional rulers from Orashi Region, bestowing on him the rights and privileges of a Grand Patron. They expressed their commitment to various campaigns, including pipeline vandalism, illegal refinery and kpo fire, cultism, and promotion of peace summits.

In his response, the respected monarch, Oba Eze Ogba of Ogba Land, Barr. Nwachukwu Obuoha Obi III, expressed his delight in receiving the Orashi National Congress. He commended the congress’ activities, aims, and objectives, stating that their efforts align with his vision for the region.

The monarch emphasized the importance of unity among the political class in the region, urging the congress to remain calm and avoid political aggression. He encouraged the congress to continue their good works, promising to stand by them as their Grand Patron.

“I am honoured to accept this role and pledge my support to the Orashi National Congress. I believe in the mission of the Congress to promote peace, unity, and development in our region. I urge them to continue their good work and remain steadfast in their commitment to the people,” Oba Eze Ogba said.

With the monarch’s acceptance, the Orashi National Congress has gained a significant ally in their quest for regional development and peace. The congress has pledged to work closely with the monarch and other stakeholders to achieve their objectives.
