Imo State To Launch Cutting-Edge Revenue Collection And Management System

In another refreshing development, the Imo State Ministry of Digital Economy and E-Government has joined forces with the Imo Internal Revenue Service (IIRS) to revolutionize revenue collection in the state.
This strategic partnership aims to harness the power of digital technology to enhance governance, boost revenue generation, and foster economic growth.
According to Dr. Chimezie Amadi, Commissioner for Digital Economy and E-Government, “This system will revolutionize revenue collection in Imo State, moving all IIRS payment platforms and activities to an online platform.” He emphasized the importance of a skilled workforce, technology, maintenance, and people management in achieving this digital transformation”.
The partnership will leverage the expertise of Compumetrics, a leading technology firm, to deploy the Global Revenue Collection and Management System. This system will ensure seamless revenue collection, reduce inefficiencies, and promote transparency.
Mr. Justice R. Okoye, Acting Chairman of IIRS, expressed his gratitude for the Ministry’s support and emphasized the critical role of digitalization in modern revenue generation. He reaffirmed his commitment to employing graduates from the SkillUp Imo project, an initiative by Governor Hope Uzodinma to train the state’s youth in various digital skills.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in Imo State’s digital transformation journey, and the Ministry of Digital Economy and E-Government is committed to providing necessary training, support, and resources to ensure its success .
