The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, has dismissed six officers following disciplinary actions taken by the Lagos State Civil Service Commission (CSC) for various acts of misconduct.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the officers’ dismissal came after the Personnel Management Board recommended their termination in line with civil service rules and regulations.
The formal notices were issued at LASTMA’s headquarters in Oshodi, Lagos.
This was confirmed by the LASTMA’s General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, through the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Adebayo Taofiq, who stated that the CSC fully endorsed the board’s decision to dismiss the officers due to severe misconduct and inefficiencies.
Bakare-Oki reiterated LASTMA’s commitment to maintaining high standards within the agency and called on Lagos residents to report any misconduct by officers, accompanied by supporting evidence.
“This dismissal is part of an ongoing effort to cleanse the agency of errant officers,” he said. He further noted that another Personnel Management Board session would soon be convened to review more cases.”
Additionally, Bakare-Oki urged Lagosians to comply with traffic regulations, warning that violations would be penalized by the Lagos Mobile Courts as prescribed by law. He stressed the importance of adhering to traffic rules to support Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus development agenda, specifically the first pillar, which focuses on traffic management and transportation.
