Ndigbo Finally Unveil Media Forum To Promote Igbo Interest In Nigeria

Over the years, there has been deliberate misrepresentations, false narratives and even subtle blackmailing against Ndigbo on their socio-political and cultural ideology in the public space.

 

The misrepresentations and misleading information have been disseminated over time without much clarification from Ndigbo, to the extent other ethnic groups seem to believe that it was the real facts of a typical Ndigbo, like the case of Ndigbo do not have Kings (Igbo Enwe Eze).

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that what has been in the minds of Ndigbo across the States of Nigeria and diaspora are – will Ndigbo continue to allow such misrepresentations and distortion of the historical facts of typical Ndigbo known for their pragmatic, hardworking and resilient as a nationality in Nigeria? The answer is No!

 

Thus, the unveiling of the Ndigbo Media Forum (NMF) with the objectives of  promoting and propagating Ndigbo in a positive direction for better understanding and to work on how to live in unity, peace, harmony among other ethnic groups in Nigeria.

 

This was disclosed by the founder and Coordinator of Ndigbo Media Forum,  Rev. Paul Eze, in a statement in Lagos State where the group was unveiled.

 

He explained that the group was conceived to promote the Igbo welfare  and it comprises of some prominent Igbo men and women, who are passionate about the welfare of Ndigbo.

 

He explained that the core objectives of the forum are to promote, propagate the course of Ndigbo and its rich cultural heritage including their ideological perspectives across the globe.

 

Rev. Eze stated that it was neccessary to have such group to change the narratives and correct the negative impressions about Ndigbo which has been sold in the public space over the years and to state the historical facts of those erroneously held impressions through the mass media.

 

He also stated that the group was created to build friendly bridges across the nation, mend fences and renew mutual relationships with other ethnic groups and regions correspondents.

 

He explained that Ndigbo Media Forum will gather, analyze and disseminate intelligence information to the southeast leadership and Ndigbo in general across the globe.

 

Rev. Eze stated that the group will stand as a mouthpiece, image maker, defend and refute any negative information against Ndigbo through the mass media as well promote Igbo welfare.

 

He stated that the group will work to educate and sensitize Ndigbo on the need for media awareness and optimal use of media to propagate Ndigbo culture and tradition including sustainability of Igbo language to avert extinction.

 

He also explained that the group will create, promote and build consensus that will enhance information development of Ndigbo and work towards improving and maintaining their participation in socio-political activities in Nigeria.

 

Eze also explained that the group will also organize seminars, workshops and accord recognitions to distinguish Igbo sons, daughters and friends who have contributed immensely for the welfare of Ndigbo in general.
