Ojodu LCDA Organizes 3rd Widows Support Programme

The Hon. Segun Odunmbaku administration held its third Widows Support Programme today at the Council Secretariat, empowering 250 widows with various starter packs and resources.

 

 

The beneficiaries received catering and drinks vendor kits, make-up and soap-making starter packs, food packages, hairdressing and tailoring kits, POS machines while 100 widows got cash gifts of ₦50,000 to enhance their livelihoods.

A raffle draw added excitement to the event, with three widows winning a deep freezer, electric fan and a bag of rice.

Representing the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Mrs. Funmi Omotosho highlighted the initiative’s role in UK supporting widows, while Mrs. Abimbola Odunmbaku, wife of the Ojodu LCDA Chairman, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to empowering women for long-term success.

 

The widows expressed profuse gratitude as free transportation was also provided by Ojodu LCDA to ensure their safe return home.
