In the spirit of the yuletide season, Raheem Salaudeen, a rising football star from Buruj Sports Academy, led his team on a heartwarming visit to the House of Chloe Orphanage in Ikorodu on 19th December, 2024.
The visit was part of the academy’s initiative to spread joy and give back to the community during Christmas.
Raheem, fresh from his return from a developmental tour with Nigeria’s U15 national team in Morocco, was at the forefront of the charity outreach.
The team donated various food items, essential supplies and a cash gift to the orphanage, ensuring the children enjoyed a memorable Christmas celebration.
Speaking during the event, the 14-year old midfielder expressed his happiness in being part of the initiative.
“Christmas is a time of giving and showing love. I feel so blessed to be able to share this moment with the kids here. It’s not just about football but also about touching lives and making a difference,” Raheem said.
The day was filled with smiles and laughter as the children at the orphanage interacted with the academy’s players and staff.
The visit was not just about the donations; the team spent quality time engaging in games, songs, and storytelling with the children, creating memories that will linger long after the festive season.
Buruj Sports Academy’s management emphasized the importance of instilling a sense of responsibility and compassion in their players beyond the football pitch.
The academy’s representative stated,
“We aim to raise not just great athletes but also great human beings. Initiatives like this teach our players the importance of giving back to the society that supports them”.
The visit to the orphanage underscored the academy’s commitment to community service and social impact.
It also highlighted Raheem’s growing leadership qualities, making him a role model both on and off the field.
As the visit was concluded, the smiles on the children’s faces and the camaraderie among the academy members were testaments to the true spirit of Christmas.
