3 Women Remanded For Stealing N40,000 Meat At Hotel

Three women, Shola Alabi, 45, Adebayo Abimbola, 42 and Usman Yetunde, 40, have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing N40,000 cow meat and frozen turkey in a hotel.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ibizzah Hotel & Suites, 170/174, Cele-Egbe, Ikotun-Lagos.
According to the Police, the women, believed to be working in the hotel, stole the items. When the management checked the meat and frozen turkey and they did not find them, they went to the Police at Ikotun Division and reported the matter about the missing meat.
Thus, the Police moved into action, arrested the women and detained them at the station for interrogation over the missing items.
After interrogation, the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The charges read:
COUNT 1: “That you, Shola Alabi “P”, Adebayo Abimbola “f” and Usman Yetunde “f”, on 25th January, 2025, at about 2200hrs, at Ibizzah Hotel & Suites, No. 170/174, Cele-Egbe, Ikotun-Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you Shola Alabi “f”, Adebayo Abimbola “f” and Usman Yetunde “f” on same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did steal eight (8) Pieces of Frozen Turkey and Six (6) Pieces of Cow Meat all worth Forty Thousand Naira (N40, 000.00) Property of Ibizzah Hotel & Suties and thereby committed an offence Contrary to Section 280 and Punishable under Section 287 (7), of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”
However, they pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu-Uthman, granted them bail and ordered their remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions. The matter was adjourned for mention.
