Orashi National Congress Passes Vote Of Confidence On Gov Siminalayi Fubara

Posted on March 15, 2025
The Orashi National Congress (ONC) has reaffirmed its support for the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, following a critical examination of his recent actions.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that after a high-level meeting in Port Harcourt, the ONC passed a vote of confidence on the Governor, commending his commitment to peace and adherence to the rule of law.
The ONC highlighted that Governor Fubara has demonstrated full compliance with the Supreme Court judgment on Local Government elections, emphasizing his peaceful approach to governance. According to the congress, the governor’s letter to the Rivers State House of Assembly recognized the Speaker and sought to present the state budget, only to be met with resistance.
“No one should treat the Executive Governor with such disrespect. He has remained peaceful despite provocations,” the ONC stated.
The Congress further noted that while Governor Fubara has continuously called for peace, certain individuals within the state appear to be against the stability and unity of Rivers.
The ONC, representing the people of the Orashi region, declared its unwavering support for the governor, pledging to organize a solidarity rally on 29th May, 2025, to reinforce their commitment to his leadership.
“We will stand with Governor Fubara, come rain or shine, to show that the Orashi people appreciate his leadership and commitment to peace. He has shown maturity by accepting the Supreme Court judgment, and the process of new elections has already commenced. All parties must respect the rule of law,” the ONC stated.
Furthermore, the Congress expressed satisfaction with the governor’s collaboration with key figures from the Orashi region, particularly the Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu, and Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie.
“The ONC is proud that our daughter, the Deputy Governor, and our son, the Chief of Staff, are working closely with the governor. We give our 100% support to this administration,” the statement added.
As Rivers State navigates its political landscape, the ONC has urged all stakeholders to embrace peace and respect the democratic process, reaffirming its stance that Governor Fubara remains the legitimate leader of the state.
