Oba Community Gets New Monarch 7 Years After Death Of King

The Oba community in Idemili South Local Government area, Anambra State, after seven years without a king, has elected Igwe Engr. Sir. Augustine Chinedu Emelobe (Ezeokpoko 11), as its new traditional ruler. 
The new monarch, Igwe Engr. Sir Emelobe, was elected by delegates in line with the tradition and constitution of the community and Anambra State.
Speaking after his installation, Igwe Emelobe pledged to lead and serve the people without fear or favour and to discharge his duties selflessly.
In their separate remarks, the Permanent Secretary to Anambra State Government, Hon. Dr. Nwabufo Nwankwo(Dikeora), APGA Chieftain, Hon. Chief Ikenna Iyiegbu(Onyechimel’eze), and Mayor of Idemili South, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata) congratulated the new king and residents of Oba for the peaceful election.
They called on the people to support the new king for the peace and progress of the community and Idemili South.
Also in attendance were the PG of Oba, Engr. Uzo Ejiofor (Ezeugonna) Onowu Oba, Chief BM Onyeka (Okom), State APGA Assistant Treasurer, Hon. Uche Maduekwe, and many others.
