The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagoos State, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, has stated that the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Senator John Mbata, is a renowned lawyer who understands Court judgement and cannot disregard it.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Chief Aguene stated this on the heels of letters being circulated on the social media by Chief Ossai and Mr. Robert Obasi making false claims over the status of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos State.
Aguene alleged that Chief Ossai and his minor group have been making false and malicious claims that Mbata recognized their group in Lagos State and that the Court judgment is a private suit between Chief Solomon Aguene and Mike Chidebelu, which cannot be imposed on Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State.
However, Chief Aguene has proved Chief Ossai wrong by presenting the Consent Court judgment, which declared Aguene as the Ohanaeze President and directed the electroal committee appointed by Chief Aguene headed by Chief Oliver Akubueze to conduct election in other positions except the position of President of Ohanaeze in Lagos State.
He explained that Senator John Mbata knows that Nigeria is not a lawless society and the rule of law must prevail at all times.
Aguene stated that Ossai cannot wake up and say he will not obey the Court judgment, which is a recipe for anarchy in the society and that is why he involved the Police to intervene and possibly prosecute Ossai for disobeying Court Order.
“If Ossai is not satisfied with the Court judgment, he has every right to go back to the Court, vacate it and ask Court to declare him president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State. But he refused to do that and insisted that he will not obey the Court order.”
Aguene explained that the suit and the judgment were very clear and it stated Mike Chidebelu on behalf of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State and Chief Solomon Aguene faction of Ohanaeze in a suit with number, ID/4898GCM/2018 before Justice L.A.M. Folami dated 12th April, 2022.
He insisted that Chief Ossai must obey the Court judgment otherwise he will bear the consequences of not doing so and the motion for his prosecution is already on through the Police investigation at FCID Annex in Lagos.
He noted that Chief Ossai has been displaying arrogance due to ignorance and even failed to attend the meeting called by Chief Anselm Njoku as he was busy attacking and castigating Njoku for trying to make peace.
