Governor Bassey Otu Resumes Duty After Vacation

Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State has officially resumed duty after a three-week vacation that took effect on 11th March, 2025.

 

The first assignment of the Governor upon resumption is the national assignment entrusted to him as the Chairman of the gubernatorial primary election of the All Progressives Congress in Anambra State.

 

The Governor arrived in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Friday evening April 4, 2025 for the primary holding on Saturday, April 5.

The Governor also confirmed the cancellation of the two-week leave extension granted to him by the State House of Assembly.

 

In his words, “The work at hand remains critical, and my commitment to moving Cross River forward takes precedence over any personal time away.”

“The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, has been duly informed of this decision, and we are back to driving the developmental agenda with renewed energy. I appreciate your prayers, support, and trust. Together, we will continue to build a prosperous Cross River State where everyone thrives,” the Governor said.
