Jilted Man, 22, Docked Over Attack On Rival For Snatching Girlfriend

A jilted 22-year old man, Ogo Chidiebere, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after being dumped as he allegedly attacked his rival, Solomon Ukpa, for snatching his girlfriend and inflicting injury on him.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Chidiebere, has been arrested and charged for the alleged assault under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The incident happened on 18th March, 2025, at Orefel Junction, Ijedodo area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect was jilted by his girlfriend, who switched over to the complainant and it did not go down well with him.
When the suspect later discovered that the girl friend dumped him because of the complainant, he targeted him where he was going to take hair cut and assaulted him.
The matter was reported to the Police at Isheri Oshun Division. He was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.A. Popoola, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 18th April, 2025, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
