APC Commends Gov Nwifuru For Improved Welfare Package For Medical Doctors

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ebonyi State Chapter, has applauded the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his bold and compassionate decision to significantly increase the monthly allowances of medical doctors working in general hospitals across the state.

Governor Nwifuru, who recently approved an upward review of doctors’ allowances from N150,000 to an impressive N500,000, also distributed  modern medical equipments such as hospital beds, mattresses, patient monitors, drip stands and other vital hospital gadgets.

This remarkable gesture underscores the Governor’s deep commitment to strengthening the healthcare system and ensuring better service delivery, especially in rural areas.

Speaking on the development, the APC State Chairman, Hon Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, described Governor Nwifuru as a “health-friendly leader with a heart for service,” adding that this move is more than just financial, it is a clear message that those who care for others deserve care and recognition in return.

“This is not just about allowances. It is about dignity, motivation, functionality, and sustainability,” the party noted. “Governor Nwifuru has shown that adequate compensation for medical professionals is not a luxury, but a necessity for building a functional and responsive healthcare system that will reduce mortalityrate in our rural areas.”

The Governor had earlier provided brand-new SUV vehicles to medical doctors posted to these Health centers and encouraged them to live close to their places of assignment. With the latest raise in allowances, he has once again proven to be a leader who understands the needs of both healthcare workers and the people they serve.

In his words during the launch of the Health Activation Program, Governor Nwifuru emphasized the importance of integrity and professionalism among medical personnel. He also highlighted the need for doctors to stay committed to their duties, especially in rural communities.

“We must reach every corner with healthcare, rural lives matter just as much as those in urban matters,” the Governor said.

The APC Ebonyi State Chapter affirms that Governor Nwifuru’s administration is the reason many are joining the party on daily bases. His policies are people centered, and his leadership continues to attract support across the state.

“With this kind of quality leadership, we won’t be surprised if Governor Nwifuru goes unopposed in 2027,” the party stated. “Ebonyians are people of gratitude, and they can clearly see the transformation happening under his watch.”

The APC commends the Governor for recognizing that fair pay for health workers is not a gift, but a right. “Doctors and health workers are the backbone of our health system, we cannot expect excellence from them if we do not reward them accordingly. Governor Nwifuru understands this well, and we as a party are proud of his actions,” the statement concluded.
